Chocolate covered strawberries. Everyone loves the combination of juicy, ripe strawberries covered in chocolate, and they're a Valentine's Day classic choice! Keep it as simple or decorative as you'd like.
Chocolate-Covered Strawberries
Ingredients
1 lb fresh strawberries (about 20–25)
8 oz chocolate
Semi-sweet or dark = classic
Milk chocolate = sweeter
White chocolate = great for drizzle
Optional toppings: shredded coconut, sprinkles, crushed cookies, sea salt
Instructions
Wash & dry the strawberries
Rinse gently and dry completely with paper towels.
Any water = chocolate won’t stick.
Prep a tray
Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper.
Melt the chocolate-this part is to be done by adults! Save the dipping and decorating for the kids.
Microwave method (easiest):
Chop chocolate, microwave in 20–30 second bursts, stirring between each, until smooth.
Stovetop:
Melt in a heat-safe bowl over simmering water, stirring gently.
Dip
Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip into chocolate.
Twist slightly, lift, and let excess drip off.
Add toppings (optional)
Sprinkle toppings on before the chocolate sets.
Set
Place on the lined tray.
Let set at room temp or refrigerate 15–30 minutes.
Optional Fancy Touches ✨
Chocolate drizzle: Melt a second type of chocolate and drizzle with a spoon or piping bag.
Glossy finish: Stir 1 tsp coconut oil into the melted chocolate.
Sweet + salty: Sprinkle flaky sea salt on dark chocolate ones.
Storage
Best eaten same day
Can refrigerate up to 24 hours
